The Experience.

Here are the answers to some of the most commonly asked questions:

  • Over 13 years ago I converted my lifetime passion for photography into my full time profession.

I have a love for story-telling. I have been hired by hundreds of clients including well-known brands like Leinenkugals, Nikon, Verizon, SOFI, AT&T, Sun Country Airlines, Visit Door County, etc to tell their stories with my camera.

I have also been hired to go on some amazing photography assignments like traveling to Uganda with the American Refugee Committee, Costa Rica with a luxury pilates retreat and Puerto Rico on assignment for an architectural magazine.

I have such wonderful memories from those worldwide photography adventures!

Some of the places my work has been featured include: Married in Milwaukee, Grand Geneva Weddings, Milwaukee Magazine, Visit Milwaukee, Travel Wisconsin, as a 65 foot tall banner on the side of a building in Denver, on the side of buses in Minneapolis, in several shows at the Minneapolis Institute of Art and Mall of America and even on the Nikon camera packaging!

  • I personally shoot every wedding I am booked for… and if you book a photography-only package then I will be there as your new fave third wheel! I may bring my assistant with me depending on the logistics of the wedding.

However I’m also lucky to have an incredible team and if you purchase a media package then it is likely you will meet some of them!

    - Jessica is my amazing in-office assistant who will research location photography rules, parking, you name it. She emails out the contracts, post-engagement shoot surveys, pre-wedding questionnaires and of course a little thank you gift after your big day!

    - Anney is my on-site assistant. She is a sweetie and has a killer creative eye, a penchant for styling details (like fixing fly-away hairs) and a second set of hands to schlep gear, jackets, you name it!

    - Leiden and Ben are my team's two skilled 2nd shooters who provide additional perspectives. They do photography, videography and content creation.

    - Forest is my award-winning Videographer partner. His genius wedding videos never fail to give you all the "feels" bringing you right back to your big day. He's available for 8 hour + weddings.

You can find bundled packages that include these services here.

  • Yes, I work full time as a professional photographer focusing on weddings, engagements, families, seniors, branding and sports.

I shoot approximately 20-25 weddings per year.

I also shoot 2-4 local magazine covers per month (Brookfield Living Magazine, Elm Leaves Magazine, Tosa Living, etc.)

Additionally I am a MaxPreps photographer for CBS Sports.

Finally, I am so proud to say I was recently voted a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Community Choice Top 3 Award Winner for 2024!

  • I love images that are clean, bright, fresh and timeless.

Images that look and feel like you!

What sort of wedding photographer am I??

    - Sometimes I am a fine-art Artist setting up gorgeous editorial and romantic portraits. Full of creative ideas, energy and ALWAYS chasing that light! True to life color. No trendy filters here!

    - Sometimes I am a Journalist documenting exactly what I see in front of me (without manipulating the situation) armed with a big smile, a well-trained eye and years of experience under my belt.

    - Other times I am a wedding reception Paparazzi sneaking along the perimeter with a long lens making sure I catch all of those silly and lovely candids like grandma's kisses, romantic hand-holding, the wrestling ring bearers, dad's one big fat tear rolling down his cheek during the first dance... you get the idea!

    - And I can be a big Sap who loves to quietly laugh at the speeches and savor the priceless moments right alongside you and your families (except I do it with a camera stuck to my face haha.)

    - Finally I am the bonus Gal Pal you didn't know you needed- there to discreetly fix your hair, pin the boutonniere when the florist is missing, get you a water when you're hot (or wine when you're nervous) and give you a big hug at the end of the night.

I love images that tell a story.

I typically follow my artistic intuition when it comes to editing style, however I am happy to work with you on your vision. These are your photos to cherish for the rest of your life. My goal is that you LOVE them!

  • After your wedding, I “cull” the images (meaning I pick the best photos that are in-focus with open eyes and flattering expressions.)

Then I hand-edit the chosen photos. Each photo receives at least 20 minutes of my time. Some photos I will spend several hours getting them “just right!” I am picky in my editing process and artistic in my vision and I craft my photos very carefully.

I tend to edit the portraits and artistic photos a bit more than the candid photos.

My general rule of thumb is that I eliminate everything on the subject that isn’t permanent like zits, cuts & bruises, dark eye circles, fly-away hair, etc. I leave all of the permanent features alone like scars, moles, etc.

I try very hard not to over-edit. After I eliminate zits, cuts, fly-aways, I do not use additional skin smoothing unless requested.

I am always happy to lighten, pinch or eliminate anything that bothers you.

My goal is for you to LOVE your photos. Just let me know!

  • When I am at a wedding I basically have one of my cameras in my hand at all times and do not have the time to also shoot video. Enter Forest. Quite possibly the most talented Videographer I have ever met! Forest’s videos are guaranteed to give you all the “feels.” You can see samples of his work here.

I also have two second shooters on my team to shoot video, content and photography as needed.

  • I offer Creative Wedding Shoots which last about an hour and are for couples who want to take some fun + creative portraits in addition to their wedding day photos.

Think second dreamy second locations, different outfits, etc... it’s a chance to be extra creative without the pressure of a wedding happening at the same time!

  • There’s no “contact for rates” game here! I believe in full transparency. Let’s just cut to the chase, right?

I have two different rate cards. One is for photography-only and the other is for media packages which includes second shooters, videographer, content creator, etc. You can see both rate cards here. I am also happy to put together a custom package if these do not fit your needs.

  • In the busy season, I charge a 50 cent per mile travel fee for any drive-distance destination that is over 60 miles away. So if your wedding is 80 miles away, I will charge a $20 fee for the extra 40 miles round trip.

I also travel and hotel fees if air travel or an overnight is required.

  • Click here to view my rates. All bookings require a 50% booking deposit. The remaining 50% is due the week leading up to the wedding.

  • I typically will send you the photos within 3 weeks of your wedding depending on the time of year.

I also will share a few sneak-peek photos within a day or two of your event if you request it!

When I am done editing your wedding photos I will send you three links.

    • One is to a web site highlight page where you will be able to see the highlight photos from your wedding - and it is a nice, organized way to view/share your photos. I usually keep this page up for about a year.

    • The second link is to a google drive where you will receive all of the finished photos. They are yours to download and use as you like!

    • Finally the third link is to my high-end professional printer. All of your photos will be uploaded there and you are free to order prints as you like. They are a high quality printer that prints magazines, bridal brochures, etc. Their colors are calibrated to my computer so it's the closest print you will get to my edits. All that said - you're welcome to print anywhere you like!

  • YES! I offer a 15% discount on photography-only wedding rates that aren’t on Saturdays or that happen on any day between November and April.
